Asphalt Systems, Inc. (ASI) is all about asphalt pavement preservation. For more than 40 years - before our nation began to endorse their use as a profitable solution to preserving our public assets - we have been promoting the concept of using thin film surface treatments to preserve pavement. There are now foundations in place to back, support, and endorse the message that ASI has been promoting since our inception. ASI knows the business of asphalt pavement preservation very well, and it has been our sole focus from the beginning.
ASI was the first emulsion manufacturer in the country to subject one of its products, GSB-88®, to a full EPA study proving its positive impact on our environment. This same product is currently experiencing additional and expanded environmental tests, to prove its effectiveness at saving money as well as the world’s resources. Our GSB products work, and we have the documentation to prove they work. They have been tested by groups such as the Army Corps of Engineers, the Department of Defense, the US Navy, state Departments of Transportation, and dozens of other agencies around the country. Results have been outstanding.
GSB products have been subjected to climate conditions ranging from the far reaches of the Aleutian Islands, to the deserts of Arizona. | GSB - 88® |
GSB-88® is an emulsified, gilsonite-enhanced, pavement sealer and rejuvenator. GSB-88® is one of the most environmentally sound pavement preservation products on the market. It has a 22 year history of performance that has been well-documented by its continued and ever-expanding use nationwide. It has been thoroughly used and tested by groups such as the FAA, the United States Navy, and the Army Corp. of Engineers. The product has been used extensively in both early stage pavement preservation, as well as reactive late stage applications for badly raveled and deteriorated pavements. It has been successfully used as a construction seal for new pavements, to mend construction related problems, and it is the ideal product to fend off the aging process that starts immediately after construction is completed. GSB-88® is the best of both worlds. It offers both the introduction and reintroduction of light fractions, as well as the superior binding, coating, and protection that only GSB products can offer. |
| GSB - 78® |
GSB-78® is the Asphalt Systems, Inc. brand of excellence. This product has been in production for over 40 years by ASI, and is by many accounts the best asphalt pavement preservation material ever offered. GSB-78® covers and protects the pavement, becoming an integral part of the pavement surface. Its benefits provide years of protection from the elements, plus it is easy to apply, handle, and store. If GSB-78® is applied regularly to a well-constructed pavement in the early lifecycle stages, it can maintain the service life, texture, and integrity almost indefinitely. Over the past 40 years, this product has been used to maintain pavements all over the United States, as well as Canada and Europe. GSB-78® is an excellent choice for the contractor, as well as any pavement owner or manager. |
| GSB - 287 |
GSB-287 is a cationic asphalt emulsion sealcoat uniquely formulated for use on commercial bituminous pavements. GSB-287 beautifies and protects asphalt pavements from the harmful effects of sunlight and oxidation, preventing moisture infiltration and protects the existing pavement and subgrade. GSB-287 may be applied over previous sealcoat treatments and cures to a flat black color in less than 4 hours. |

GSB-Sealcoat has been a part of the Asphalt Systems, Inc. lineup of products for more than 15 years. ASI has been making mineral filled, asphalt based sealcoat materials for over 25 years. GSB-Sealcoat employs the superior qualities and characteristics of gilsonite to greatly enhance its resistance to the elements, as well as making it very tough and durable - even in hot weather applications. GSB-Sealcoat can be applied by spray or squeegee, and may be viscosity modified to carry heavy sand loadings if the applicator or owner desires. This sealcoat material has been the choice of many for years. |

Asphalt Systems, Inc. has been a full line manufacturer of emulsified pavement rejuvenators for many years. We have made, and continue to make rejuvenators for the surface treatment markets as well as the asphalt recycling markets. Our products meet State and Federal specifications, and may be formulated to meet others as needed. PASS-CR and PASS-QB are products produced and sold by Asphalt Systems, Inc. We have been a licensed manufacturer of the PASS products for 12 years, producing and distributing in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. PASS-CR is a high quality chip seal oil that rejuvenates pavement does a superior job of retaining cover aggregate. PASS can be used in much cooler temperatures than other conventional chip oils, while also significantly outlasting other products. PASS oils are routinely specified by agencies in and around the intermountain area. |
| GSB - Repave ® |
GSB-Repave is a cold, in-place asphalt recycling additive that was introduced to the Asphalt Systems, Inc. product line about 14 years ago. This product demonstrates the excellent qualities of gilsonite. The product has been tested to show superior early stage stability, allowing for early trafficking of projects. The GSB-Repave has also been tested to show very good aging characteristics, superior to many other systems currently on the market. GSB-Repave is an excellent choice for your next light-to-medium duty, cold, in-place recycling project.
